Leakage through arch dam stopped after many attempts
Bowman dam, built in 1926, forms part of Bowman Reservoir of irrigation district in Nevada and Placer Counties; seepage led to succession of attempted remedies but without success; in 1945 grouting program 3628 sacks of cement were forced into 40 holes ranging from 30 to 125 ft in depth; this procedure and treatment of upstream face with "Metalon" reduced leakage by 80 1/2.
