Field investigation of underground heat distribution systems
Investigation conducted by Federal Construction Council Task Group to reevaluate principles presented in FCC Technical Report No. 30R and No. 39; inspections were made of 132 systems located at 40 installations in 16 states and Washington, DC; installations were selected for conditions with precipitation rates ranging from 55 to 9 in./yr, soil conditions ranging from highly permeable sand to clay, groundwater levels ranging from above system to more than 300 ft below, and terrain ranging from hilly to flat.
