Selection of method of strengthening cold-bent rolled sections by heat treatment; best method considered is to strengthen finished St3sp killed steel sections by heat treatment so as to greatly increase strength values while retaining satisfactory ductility; this does not alter after transverse cross-sectional shape; metal can be quenched from 940 C with interrupted cooling, or quenched and then given normal high temperature tempering; second method provides slightly higher ductility and same strength, but is less favorable from technological point of view.
