Effects of boron on structure and properties of low-alloy mild steel; after noting that boron in MK manganese-silicon steel has scarcely any effect on its hardenability, it is pointed out that raising temperature and increasing cooling rate during normalization intensify effect of boron on structure and mechanical properties of type MnSi-Mo-V mild steels; this has made it possible to develop new grade 15GSKhMFR high-strength nickel-free steel; addition of small amounts of titanium substantially improves strength of this steel, but reduces its impact strength.
