Pore pressure measurement in saturated stiff soils
Errors associated with measurement of pore water pressures in saturated cemented soils during undrained triaxial shear; methods of modifying testing equipment to minimize errors; replacing null indicator with pressure transducer of low compressibility and minimizing volume of water in pore water lines reduced error in measuring pore pressures to less than 3%; volume changes due to leakage and operation of drainage valves can be minimized by enclosing test specimens in thick rubber membranes and by using no-volume change ball type valves.
