Pavement friction and temperature effects
To study effect that temperature has on pavement friction, adhesion and hysteresis components were separated and their temperature dependence is studied independently; it is shown how by superposition of adhesion and hysteresis curves, temperature dependence of friction can be qualitatively predicted; field and laboratory tests made with skid trailers and portable testers confirmed this temperature dependence.
