Experience with concrete highway patching mortars containing synthetic resins (tests were made in 1961-1963)
30 resin mortars were tested in repairing highway surfaces damaged by de-icing salts; formulations of these mortars were divided into three groups based, respectively, on epoxy, polyester, and methyl methacrylate; aggregate content varied from 2.8 weight parts (relative to resin weight) for methyl methacrylate to 9.0 weight part for epoxy; results were not satisfactory, as all patches peeled off within periods of time ranging from few months to two years.
