Design and construction of Bombay-Nasik and Bombay-Poona roads are discussed; 5-in. thick concrete pavements are shown to perform satisfactorily for twenty-five to thirty yrs, in spite of being structurally inadequate to carry heavy intensity of traffic; necessity for adjustment in cement price to enable concrete roads to be constructed on more extensive scale is emphasized.
