Sudan's Roseires dam project
Scheme for construction of dam in area of Damazin rapids near Roseires, consists of concrete buttress dam more than 8000 ft long, flanked by earth embankments; building of dam is to be effected in 2 stages; first, will raise water level 120 ft above present low river water level and provide storage for 3000 million cu yd of water; second stage would raise dam by 10 m and increase reservoir capacity to at least 7400 million cu yd.
