Design of concrete mixes and execution of quality control
Koyna Concrete Laboratory in India is dedicated to investigate suitability of aggregate and sand produced at various installations and design economical concrete mixes keeping in view requirements of strength and durability as stipulated by designers; work on rubber concrete was initiated and its efficiency as construction material evaluated; preliminary investigations, coupled with continuous testing helped in maintaining good control over quality of concrete produced and placed at several locations including dam, headrace tunnel works, surge pressure shafts, powerhouse, and tailrace tunnel.
