Flexural rigidity of Yawata H-beam bridges
H-beam bridge designed by Yawata Iron and Steel Co, is assembly bridge in which rolled H-shapes are used as they are; overall construction is narrower than for conventional types; flexural rigidity and deflection were determined for 4 H-beam bridges in actual service; stress and vibration measurements were also made for one bridge; frequencies in terms of cycles per second are calculated for both composite and noncomposite girders and it is concluded, there is only slight deviation between them.
