Steel safety nets of 4×4 in. mesh was used during repair of Bourne Bridge over Cape Cod Canal to prevent workers from falling into canal and to act as work platform, painting scaffold, and inspection catwalk; mesh was hung from handrails to enclose completely sides and underside of bridge at cost of $30,000; details are given of repairs to bituminous wearing course, deck concrete, and expansion joints.
