Survey of performance of more than 800 large corrugated iron plate pipes and arches serving as culverts indicates life expectancy for pipes of at least 50 yr while for arches there was not sufficient measurable deterioration on which to base prediction; other survey results are of value in determining how to use corrugated pipes and arches more effectively as drainage structures.
