New approach of applying concept of Rysenkampf's triangle of filtration is introduced to solve gravity well problems under steady or transient conditions; method entails subdivision of flow domain into successive prisms and solving one equation to determine exact free surface; only one cycle is calculated; existence of discharge face is recognized as result of elimination of Dupuit-Forchheimer assumptions; method can be extended to study of flow in field of group of gravity wells.
