Preliminary optimization of aqueduct route
Economic optimization of preliminary routing of aqueduct is treated by formulating problem in terms of network of potential subroutes; cost of components of aqueduct is examined and equations are developed for estimating costs of individual links in network; some criteria for location of nodes and division of topography into planes are examined; numerical examples of calculation of optimal lift and reach for typical cost figures and solution for best and second-best route through typical network are shown.
