Calculating deflections of partially collapsed frame
Example is presented to demonstrate particular error that may be encountered when calculating deflections of partially collapsed frames with usual limit analysis approach; assumption that locations of all plastic hinges are same for elastic plastic model as they are for rigid plastic collapse model, is shown to be not always valid; its validity can be assured if moment distribution for elastic plastic model is verified as being statically admissible.
