Portable surfacing for military access roads laboratory and tank traffic tests
Laboratory and field tests were conducted on 3 coated fabrics to determine their suitability as dustproofing and waterproofing media when placed directly on soil subgrades, and as expedient means for rapid construction of access roads to temporary bridge sites; T12 neoprene-coated nylon membrane, was most satisfactorily performing surfacing material, withstanding 615 coverages by M48 tank; sewn membrane panels were placed approximately 9 times faster than were adhesive-bonded panels; recommendations.
