Experiments on scour resistance of cohesive sediments
Correlated results for test involving scour by vertical submerged jet impinging on horizontal surface of soil sample; characteristics of scour surface were observed for remolded and natural sediment, and rates of scour were measured by weight loss of sample; apparatus is designed to permit direct measurement of uniform shear stress developed at surface of cylindrical sample of cohesive sediment.
