Thin shell barrel type arch structures are built of four independent sections separated by expansion joints; 2-hinged arch ribs on outside of barrel, two to each section, have footings supported on piles and tied together by bridge strands; using movable timber forms, hangar roof section was completed every 2 1/2 to 3 wk, concrete being supplied by pump line from mixer on ground.
