Dam and power plant at Monteynard (Isere)
153-m high, 230-m long arched dam is 54.10-m thick at foundation level and 5 m thick at crown; power plant is equipped with four 80, 000 kw groups, each consisting of vertical Francis turbine revolving at 214 rpm and absorbing 75 cu m/sec at net nominal head of 120 m, and of 90,000 kva alternator; excavation work, preparation of concrete, and construction of dam and powerhouse are described.
