The Tansa completion works for the water-supply of Bombay
Main sections of work involve construction of about 48 miles of pipe track from Tansa to Bandra and 3 1/4 miles of track for 60-in. branch main from Powai to Ghatkoper; building of steel bridges across Bassein and Bandra creeks; supply, manufacture, transport, and laying of 81 miles of 72-in. steel pipes from Tansa to Powai; remodelling of distribution system in Bombay; raising of Tansa dam; construction of filter beds for water from Tansa Lake; arrangements for chlorination of Tansa water supply; construction of service reservoir at Sion hill and enlargement of Bhandarwada reservoir, etc.
