Comprehensive investigation of practicability of discharging whole of sewage through one or more sea outfalls in such manner as to be acceptable from point of view of public health, amenity, and economy; investigation comprised bacteriological and biological survey, extensive float, current meter, and drift card observations, operation of tidal model with imposed wind induced currents to supplement oceanographic work, and feasibility survey to determine constructional difficulties; summary of results and of their interpretation is presented.
