Soil exploration and pile driving in seabed of Victoria harbour, Hong Kong
Results of sinking 1700 boreholes with total penetration of 40,000 ft and of driving over 1300 precast concrete piles are presented in form of soil profiles correlated with piling characteristics diagrams or dredging levels; fundamental physical properties of typical soils and Atterberg limits of some are plotted on Casagrande plasticity chart;-importance of skin frcition in supporting piles and relationship between sets of initial drive and redrive of concrete piles in plastic soils.
