New type of microphotometer combining advantages of projection type described by HESTHAL and HARRISON in 1929 with those of original photoelectric type of Koch; plate measured is traversed by beam of blue light supplied from small lamp of constant intensity, used to make desired density determinations; at same time it is viewed by means of beam of orange light furnished by projection lamp run on commercial a-c.
