Synthetic coefficients for streamflow routing
Solution for problem of computing channel routing coefficients for reaches where no runoff data exists is presented; diagrams correlating channel physical characteristics with corresponding routing factors are presented, considerably simplifying such computations; computer program is available, saving time and effort considerably; only three channel physical characteristics are necessary to refer to developed charts; these are -- reach length, in miles; reach slope (pure number); and channel capacity, in cubic feet per second; effects of channel roughness and degree of channel improvement on developed routing indexes are discussed.
