Metropolitan Sanitary District of Greater Chicago built research facility in Stickney, III, devoted to control of air and water pollution; laboratory work carried on includes chemistry, microbiology, bacteriology, waste treatment research, waterways research, radiochemistry, industrial waste study, and materials testing calling for high level illumination; light sources and fixtures employed in laboratory and 156-seat auditorium which is being used as class room, laboratory demonstration room, meeting room, lecture hall and motion picture theater.
