Effect of earthquake of March 27, 1964, on Eklutna Hydroelectric Project, Anchorage, Alaska
Most damage occurred to facilities constructed on unconsolidated sediments and overburden which densified and subsided during earthquake; structures built on bedrock experienced little or no damage; underground communication and electrical systems in Anchorage were examined with small-diameter television camera to locate damaged areas requiring repair; most of damage was concentrated at or near valley slopes.
