Hydraulic model studies for morrow point dam
Results of hydraulic model studies on U S Bureau of Reclamation's highthin-arch concrete dam with double curvature and power plant on Gunnison River in southwest Colorado; 1 to 24 scale model was used to determine hydraulic operating characteristics of recommended free fall orifice-type spillway, slide-gate controlled outlet works, and tailrace channels of underground power plant; data were obtained concerning pressure distribution in spillway conduits and bellmouth entrances, on stilling basin floor, and on stilling basin weir; stability of riprap protection was determined, and tests were made concerning movement of material in stilling pool.
