Tremendous potential of construction industry is outlined against rising trend of failures; these failures are analyzed by type of contractor, amount of liabilities, and by geographic regions; underlying cause of more than 85% of construction failures in recent years is traced to poor management practices; to help reverse present failure trend in construction industry, contractors are encouraged to evaluate use of technical and on-job training courses, to develop and use key index ratios, and to keep close tab on bidding and cost control procedures.
