Effect of slenderness on direct tensile strength of concrete cylinders and prisms
Experimental investigation proved relationship between slenderness of concrete cylinders and prisms compacted in both vertical and horizontal positions, and direct tensile strength of concrete; this strength was determined in new testing equipment designed in Building Research Institute of Technical University in Praha, Czechoslovakia, with utilization of modern adhesives; no essential difference was found in course of percentual increase of apparent direct tensile strength as dependent on slenderness of individual test specimens.
