Quality of nominally homogeneous surface cast against form face is described; attempt is made to explain occurrence of several blemishes; formwork features, form face coating, requirements for reinforcement and mix design are set forth; high-quality surface can be produced if necessary attention is paid to quality of formwork and selection of release agent and if suitable mix is used and handled in appropriate manner.
