Most important results of model tests carried out by F.Leonhardt and H.Reimann (indexed from Bauingenieur Feb 1966), and also of tests conducted by G.D.Base, M.M.Tourasse, and J.Dix are reported and examined critically; behavior of concrete hinges, and particularly distribution of stresses and deformations in throat, is problematic, since Young's modulus for concrete under three-axial compression and influence of factor time has become vague concept; reliability of recommendations for dimensions and reinforcement is sufficient, but practical question of allowable rotation has not yet been answered satisfactorily.
