Concrete construction cost data are presented, including various short-cut methods for estimating cost of reinforced concrete buildings; cost of structural frame is shown in relation to total building cost, with effect of geographic differentials shown; discussion of various types of concrete floor systems shows that floor cost amounts to approximately 85% of total frame cost; information is presented on various changes in new American Concrete Institute Building Code and how they will affect construction cost; cost advantages in using Ultimate Strength Design Method and new high strength reinforcing bars are discussed.
