Construction of multistory student union building for Japanese University; building has two basements and 11 floors above ground level; its height is 104 ft from ground and plan measures 71 ft square with central core of 24 ft square, which houses stairs and lifts; concrete used for floors was light weight with relative density of 1.8 (112 lb/ cu ft) and compressive resistance of 2700 psi after 4 wk; lifting jacks were anchored on top of outside steel columns as well as on top of four corners of central core; two floors were lifted simultaneously, one being structural floor and other intermediate.
