Structural model of "Australia square" tower in Sydney
Construction and testing of model of 600 ft high reinforced concrete building to be erected in Sydney, Australia; tall building has circular core, which consists of outside and inside wall interconnected by 20 radial diaphragm walls forming cells, which extend over full height of tower; 17 of these cells then become vertical shafts for express lifts, three have floors at each story and serve as entry corridors; framework of 20 tapered columns encircle this cellular core with radial beams connecting each column to their opposite diaphragm wall; analysis of model test results.
