Aspects of load bearing brickwork design in up to 16 story structures; to examine behavior of larger elements and complete structures, technique was developed for carrying out research work on 1/6 model scale; tests showed that it is possible to reproduce mode of failure of full sized brickwork elements and to estimate, from model tests, their strength, taking into account brick strength, mortar strength, eccentricity of loading and other relevant variables.
