Elasto-inelastic beams traversed by massive loads
Experimental and analytical investigation of inelastic behavior of beams subjected to moving loads is described; results show that analytical method predicted experimental behavior reasonably well, particularly in case of sprung loads; large discrepancies in case of unsprung loads were noted when load was nearing end of crossing and deformations were large; this discrepancy was attributed to fact that in that period response of beam was very sensitive to load speed and speed in experiments differed appreciably from one used in analysis.
