Elastic-plastic analysis of arches
Method is presented for determining behavior, to failure, of reinforced concrete arch; response of structure is obtained by superimposing nonlinear elastic analyses for successive, small increments of loading; properties of each cross section of arch, including position of bending axis, are re-evaluated for every increment of loading, using trial and error technique; large digital computer was used to obtain numerical results.
