Allowable bearing capacity of initially bent piles
Method for calculation of maximum lateral deflection, maximum soil reaction, and maximum bending moment of axially loaded, initially bent pile; it is shown that by limiting maximum soil reaction to one-half to one-third of ultimate lateral resistance of soil, and by limiting maximum stress in pile to one-half to one-fourth of yield, or ultimate strength of pile material, it is possible to estimate rapidly axial load that can be safely applied.
