Flow characteristics of axisymmetric expansions
Characteristics of flow for 4 abrupt expansions with half angles of 15, 30, 45 and 90° are determined; data for errors inherent in measuring technique, are checked and development of force field is determined through application of momentum equation; transformation of mean energy, rate of production of turbulence, and rate of dissipation of turbulence energy are determined; evaluated head-loss results from air-duct studies are checked by independent measurements in water-pipe assembly.
