It is shown that flow of clay-water suspensions cannot be analyzed using formulas derived for clear water; established correlations for pipe line flow show that Reynolds number for change from laminar to turbulent flow depends on fluid properties in addition to apparent viscosity; apparent viscosity of clay-water suspension may be function of shear rate at wall for pipe line flow of Power Law fluid.
