Some recent developments in design and construction of prestressed concrete structures in Great Britain
Application of partial prestressing to structural problems, use of prestressing by stages and preloading of joints in structural precast buildings are discussed; examples of prestressed concrete structures of large span are included where economy in cost as related to alternative designs in structural steelwork is analyzed; improvements in manufacture of light weight aggregates and use of light weight concrete in prestressed structural units in Great Britain.
