Diversion dam built on shore, toppled into place
Construction of dam across Saguenay River in Canada by Alcoa Power Co., as portion of Chute-a-Caron hydroelectric power development; obelisk was built on top of pier, arranged so that it could be shot off by charge of dynamite allowing it to topple into river; concrete block was 92 ft. high, 45 ft. wide and approximately 45 ft. deep.
