Steel-truss railroad bridge, 5604 ft. long, with individual spans up to 531 ft. in length, across Suisun Bay, near San Francisco; designed to meet earthquake shocks twice as intense as those of San Francisco quake of 1906; construction of open cofferdams, sand islands and caissons, wooden sheathing coffers plastered outside with mud and Wakefield sheet piling coffers bracketed with inside waling.
