Labor and delivery disputes halted window installation with structural steel being erected near 30th floor; closing in part of building became critical, since structural design calls for windows to be in place on lower floors when steel erection passes 30th floor to distribute erection stresses due to wind load; each temporary window consists of 1×4-in. wooden frame, reinforced at corners with sheet metal, and covered by 20-mil clear polyethylene; capable of withstanding 20 psf design load due to wind; frames are fastened to mullions by means of J-bolts and wing nuts; each unit is light and can be easily moved to higher floor as permenent windows become available.
