Various types of anchoring systems are described and illustrated in examples of work executed on excavations for underground hydraulic power stations, on penstocks, dams, bridge piers, cableway pylones, etc; problem of prestress anchors in loose ground is examined, and method of calculating their dimensions is proposed; some examples of anchoring systems used in building pit walls, quay walls, and retaining walls are described.
