Thermal shock on boundary of elastic-visco-plastic semi-infinite body
Investigation of wave produced by constant temperature applied suddenly to boundary of semi-infinite body; there are elastic waves and plastic waves; problem is solved for elasto-visco-plastic, strain hardening body, in temperature range up to 300 C; method used is that of plastic waves produced by dynamical load of mechanical type; in region of visco-plastic strain, solution is obtained numerically by method of characteristics; solution in elastic and unloading region is obtained in closed form; influence of strain-hardening on wave propagation is examined.
