Effect of acrylonitrile on kinetics of dissolution of steel in hydrochloric and sulfuric acids
At about 1% of acrylonitrile, corrosion rate becomes constant after 15 to 20 min; at lower concentration, transition from acceleration to inhibition of corrosion occurs when acrylonitrile concentration increases; steel plates pretreated with 1N HCl retain protective action of inhibitor for longer time when kept in acid.
