Generalized kelvin-voigt used in soil dynamics study
General steady state solution for forced vibration of cylindrical shaft of material represented by generalized Kelvin-Voigt model is presented; this general solution can be used, together with boundary conditions and properties of various types of apparatus to obtain analytical solutions for these specimen-apparatus systems; example of procedure is given for boundary value problem that is typical of some of specimen-apparatus systems used; measured response for cylindrical specimen of sand obtained with such apparatus is compared with computed results obtained from analytical solution.
