Pile-soil-interactions during vibro-pile-driving
In pilot studies reported, laboratory experiments were made with model piles vibrodriven into Ottawa sand and Princeton red clay with various moisture contents; some tentative conclusions could be drawn with respect to bearing capacity, design criteria for force generators, impedance, and fluidized soil volume; it seems that critical frequency which excites pile with one node near center of pile, represents most economical case and with one somewhat elusive node in soil below pile tip as second best procedure.
